Parklets, sometimes called “dining decks,” allow downtown merchants to use the city parking spaces in front of their businesses as dining and retail space. Parklets are intended to be aesthetic improvements to the streetscape. Legislation permitting parklets was passed by City Council in April 2021.
Parklets can expand the space available for outdoor dining, increase the visibility of our downtown businesses, help our businesses open fully and safely this summer, and encourage our community and visitors to head downtown to shop, dine, and explore.
Parklets may be in place April 1 - November 1.
