 Dear Property Owner or Tenant,
 

The City of Bowling Green requires all property owners and/or tenants to clear snow and ice from sidewalks abutting their premises within twenty-four hours after the abatement of any storm during which such snow and ice have accumulated.

Downtown Bowling Green will provide initial snow and ice removal as part of its service to the Special Improvement District.  This letter is to confirm our part in helping keep the downtown a safe and inviting place to shop, dine, live and work.
 

• Crews will be called in when 1 inch of snow or ½ inch of ice accumulates. Snow and ice removal service will be performed one time only in any 24-hour period.
• The snow removal service will attempt to substantially complete removal by 9 a.m., depending on weather conditions.
• A sixty-inch path will be cleared, closest to the front of buildings, back side of buildings where public walkways exist, existing alleyways and other public walkways.
• Crews will make the initial application of appropriate ice melt product in cleared areas.
• Property owners and their tenants are responsible for keeping walkways abutting their premises clear of snow and ice for the 24-hour period following our service, regardless of additional snowfall or ice accumulation.
• Property owners and tenants are responsible for clearing snow and ice from doorways that are inset from the face of the building.
• Service areas include: Service areas will include accessible sidewalks that are 60 inches or greater.
• The City of Bowling Green will continue to clear and de-ice all public parking lots. Private parking lots are the sole responsibility of the property owner or tenant.
